Introduction
This very brief publication of only 64 pages, looks at the problems facing the family of an addict, and suggests ways by which this family problem can be both better understood and managed.
Every parent wants to proactively help their child recover from this condition, but they often find it difficult to find clear advice as to how they can help. This publication is intended to act as a sort of road map which will help them to navigate some of the problems they may encounter.
An addict never “chooses” to be an addict, any more that they would chose to be diabetic, epileptic or physically disabled.
Nobody who flirts with a recreational drug, and this includes alcohol, expects that particular drug to eventually control and then to ruin their lives.
